old work

Here's some old work which has nothing to do with what I'm doing now but thought it would be interesting to see how different it is compared to my work now.

Here's some of my work where I used plaster and trapped my weaving inside. This work was the beginnings of my degree project, as you can see completely different to what it's like now.

These pieces were based on the theme of coastal erosion and sediment layers, showing the different colours of rock and how easily the coast is worn away.

It's interesting how rich my work is through colour and texture in comparison with what I do now, and how neutral my palette has become.

2 weeks till deadline!

My work has changed a lot since my photo shoot. I decided on using a bookshelf as a prop to present my woven bricks, as the shelfs are a strong link to my dads as they both have them.

The piece is a physical representation of the relationship I have with my dads and how they've supported me throughout my life. I want the piece to look like a working progress as obviously the relationship isn't finished.

first blog

Haven't got a clue how to start a blog but here goes. Hope you like it please let me know what you think.

Thought I would start by showing some examples of my work. This is my work leading up to my degree show. These images are from the photo shoot for the exhibition catalogue. My work is about my relationship with my dads, yes I said dads. The work is based around the metaphor of the home, with the home being the place of upbringing.
